So I just got off the phone with a supervisor and they said when your yearly date ends you must file a new claim. HERES the big part though, she suggested that when you do so you call up because if
You do it online you're going to have the break in claim part pop up and it's going to backdate it till March and just sit there until you get ahold to a supervisor. She did say that if you do what to
Do it online have your last day of work like August 13-14 but she highly recommended you have them do it for you over the phone so that you don't have a break in your claim. Now a quick way to get ahold to someone is after you put all your info in when it says to change your name address etc press 1 press that and you'll be transferred. I got through a few times playing around with that this morning every time I called and it worked then I asked to speak to a supervisor and that's what I was told today. I also started at 8:15 this morning

Which confirms what I have been saying. I opened a new claim on 7-19-20 online and got the message You have a break in claim you have not claimed benefits since 5-3-20. Still waiting a callback from a specialist which I was told by the rep. could take up to 3 days which will be Wednesday. If I don't get that callback I call again.

Yes but they are now suggesting just make the claim over the phone so they can make sure there isnt a break in the claim. If you're going to call back, follow the instructions I gave and ask for a supervisor to call you back and help you fill your claim.

answerman

what phone number are you calling? I have the same problem opened new book brake in claim message. Not sure what number to call.

I called 888-209-8124 and called 4x trying different prompts till I got through. As far as wig wag claiming by phone and not getting the break in claim notice I tried that on Monday 7-20-20, after trying to claim online, and also got the break in claim notice. Maybe they fixed the problem I don't know. I do know that when I spoke with an unemployment rep. about getting the break in claim notice not allowing me to finish my weekly claim she didn't know why. But she asked if I wanted a specialist to call me which could take up to 3 days and I said YES. She also offered, as I noted in earlier posts, to enter my claim over the phone for last week which she did. So I am waiting for the specialist to call. Tomorrow, Wednesday, will be day 3. So I hope to get a call by then. If not I will wait til Sunday and try to file for this week. If I get the same break in claim I"ll have to call again can't do anything else.

answerman

That's the number I'm using. As of yet unable to get through. I also opened new book on 7/20 and certified claim on 7/26. I had the question about brake in claim and I answered no . I was able to certified claim and on Monday when you check current claim it states they are continuing to work on my application to determine the amount of benefits I will receive. Also The start date on claim is 4/27/20 to 5/2/21 so I think it's all screwed up. Gonna keep calling thanks for the info.

Thanks for sharing your experience it was exactly mine. I will say that I didn't want to answer yes or no because then I would be acknowledging that there was a break in claim and didn't want to do this. I didn't want it to come back and bite me down the road.

answerman

Why would it come back to bite us? we are going from old book to new book with know brake. I think it's a antiquated system that should have been updated years ago. Because it never was updated all of us are paying the price. The people who are responsible will be pointing there finger everywhere but at themselves.

hideout

I agree with you but the fact is by answering the question you are agreeing there was a break in service when there really wasn't. I just don't feel comfortable doing that.

Answerman please keep me updated if you get your unemployment benefits deposited this week. I'll keep you updated with my situation. So far no phone call yet from the specialist and no benefits deposited yet.

answerman

I finally got through yesterday. Was told everything looked OK that my benefit page should be updated shortly. As of today it still says working on my application to determine my benefits. I will keep all updated.

hideout

I'll do the same and let you know if anything on my end changes, Thank you!

Answerman just wanted to keep you updated.  In the mail today I got my Unemployment  Insurance Monetary  Benefit Determination. Something I don't understand though? I opened my new claim on 7-20-20 but the form I just received says that my claim effective/start date is 04/27/20 and benefit tear ending 05/02/21. I thought my start date would have been 7-20-20 and my new claim would end a year after that? I am confused. And still haven't received my money for last week into my account.
Also got a 2nd notice in the mail from unemployment, Important  Information Notice at top of the form, it states, To validate your claim, claim credit for your unpaid waiting week. Do this any day between Sunday 05/03/2020 through 05/09/2020. Isn't it almost August 1, 2020. Now I am really confused. Have been trying to call since 2 o'clock but can't get through. That's the latest hope you make out better.

answerman

I received same two notices by mail saying the same thing today. I also have been calling all day and have not gotten through. The web site still says the same thing so I don't know. I will let everyone know if I get any info.

Holy crap! After reading all this I'm sure not looking forward to opening my book on the 10th!
